Mobility
Bank anglers who move catch more than those who sit. Cover water until you find fish, then slow down. Keeping a minimal kit lets you walk more comfortably. Leave the tackle box in the car.
Access Points
Public areas get pounded. Walk farther than most people bother. Fight through brush to reach hidden spots. The best bank fishing often requires some effort to access. Reward comes to those willing to work.
Weedless Presentations
Shore anglers lose more lures to snags because they can’t reposition to free them. Use Texas rigs, weedless jigs, and topwater to minimize hang-ups. Sacrificing some action to stay snag-free is worth it.
Time of Day
Fish move shallow to feed at low light – exactly when bank anglers can reach them. Dawn and dusk favor shore fishing. Midday pushes fish deeper and farther from bank access.
